Cyber crime and digital criminal investigationWhat is it? For who is it?The people responsible for the company’s welfare are usually the people who ask us these questions: Who is the leak? Who is using his work computer for illegal practices? Who was responsible for that internet threat? Where did that digital attack come from? The digital criminal investigation departments’ daily activities consist of finding and recording digital traces in ICT systems and on the internet. In doing this, our experts always abide the law. Do you want to find certain information? You are at the right address. We have access to many worldwide information resources and databases. Furthermore, BSM knows which methods to use to screen and investigate these resources quickly and efficiently, which is possibly more important than having access to these resources. Asset search, screening and other background research is also done by this department. The reports are sent to the client straight away. Usually, the reports are also sent to our own criminal investigation department or another criminal investigation bureau in our network who we work with.
ICT Forensics: investigation of servers, computers, pda’s and other equipment.
ICT Forensics is the collecting and analyzing of digital data from computers, files and other systems. The object of study may be a digital photograph, a digital audio fragment, or even a complete hard disk or a server. When we make a copy of a hard disk, we always place a ‘write-blocker’ in between the source system and the target system. This blocker proves that we did not compromise the data. An important aid for the digital investigation department is ‘Encase’. This software package is globally used by all detective institutions such as police corpses and customs offices.
Web Forensics: Investigate and find evidence on the internet
The internet holds a lot of relevant data, if you know where and what to search for. That is what the Web forensics department does- they search the internet. You may think that this is a simple task, as everyone can use Google nowadays. But what is that data worth, who wrote it and when did they write it? What was published on that website last week? Next to open resources, we also use restricted resources such as the Chamber of commerce and land registry from many countries. The results from all the different databases are incorporated into one screen, which allows us to draw conclusions quickly, accurately and efficiently about companies, persons and possessions.
Data recovery: Get back your lost dataDigital investigations are frequently about analyzing data which has been deleted. An e-mail which has been deleted, an emptied rubbish bin or a USB stick which has been formatted- we can solve these issues. In most cases, we can retrieve the data and we can find out who or which user account last accessed the data. searchLatest NewsGegevens van reizigers ov-chipkaart-site gelekt BSM in Leidsch Dagblad vanwege hacken website Trojaans paard vervalst online bankafschriften Draadloze keyboards afluisteren mogelijk Interview RTV-NH - Hilversum Autobranden Uitzending BNR radio cyberterrorisme Gratis personal patch tool Archief
