BSM is a Criminal Investigation and consultation bureau. We specialize in investigating and fighting cybercrime and fraud. We are based in Amsterdam and we have a computer lab in Purmerend, a city near Amsterdam. At these premises, we carry out audits, criminal investigations and consultancy work. One particular area of expertise is forensic computer and internet investigation computers and the internet. We developed our own software and techniques for computer forensics and penetration testing. BSM finds the facts you need!

Cybercrime and digital investigations:

Who was responsible for that internet threat? Where did that digital attack come from? The digital criminal investigation department’s daily activities consist of finding and recording digital traces in ICT systems and on the internet. Do you want to find certain information? You are at the right address. We have access to many worldwide information resources and databases. Furthermore, BSM knows which methods to use to screen and investigate these resources quickly and efficiently, which is possibly more important than having access to these resources. The digital investigation department is also responsible for carrying out asset search, screening and other background research. When the investigation has been completed, we send the final report to the client immediately. Usually, the reports are also sent to our own criminal investigation department or another criminal investigation bureau in our network.

BSM Investigations: Due diligence, background checks, asset search, fraud

The BSM investigation department carries out investigations, registers fraud or abuse and writes final reports. BSM believes in audi alteram partem, or in other words, hear the other side. This means that no person should be judged without a fair hearing in which he is given the opportunity to respond to the evidence against him. Bearing this in mind, BSM may confront the party in question. Trace investigations, observations and other methods of investigation may also be carried out. BSM´s license has been issued by the Dutch Ministry of Justice (POB 1104). This entails that we are certified to carry out every possible form of criminal investigation. All our employees have been trained to handle confidential information and have been screened by the police.

Audit

Prevention of cybercrime should be of utmost priority to you. If you need to test the security of your organization our audit team can help you. We have developed tools for securing your system: a scan (The ICCM scan) and a quality mark (data secure). Your company may carry the quality mark if your information is sufficiently shielded for unauthorized access. Our report allows our clients to see for themselves whether their systems or processes have any vulnerabilities for hackers or cyber criminals.

Our penetration tests are suitable for anyone who wants to test how secure their website or office environment is. Penetration tests are short, technical tests on segments of your company’s infrastructure. Is your internet connection secure? Can we access your office via e-mail? Are the data on your website sufficiently protected? We have learned that these questions often have to be answered negatively.

Information security Consultation

Our consultants have experience with strategic security policy development and with carrying through new or excisting security polices in the organization. The consultants have knowledge of the major project management methodologies like Prince II and Cobit and the world wide know security standards ISO 27000, SOX and PCI.
